Route Highlights:
This is a one-of-a-kind tour that focuses on the Serengeti in order to witness the Great Migration. You will spend at least four nights in the park, usually two in the Central Area (which has the highest concentration of big cats) and two elsewhere depending on the time of year. We designed this tour so that you finish the safari in the most remote part of the Serengeti and then fly to Zanzibar to finish your holiday relaxing on the exotic Zanzibar Island.
Day 1: Tarangire NP.
The lovely Tarangire national park is where you’ll be spending today. Due to its size and remoteness, particularly in the southern section, it is a popular park among guides. The park is well-known for its large concentrations of elephants. There are also large populations of wildebeest, zebra, impala, giraffe, eland, and buffalo, as well as a few rare and localized species like the gerenuk and fringe-eared oryx. The primary landscape consists of dry, open woodland dotted with hundreds of Africa’s prehistoric ‘Trees of Life,’ the baobab tree. You’ll drive through the park in your luxury private vehicle, stopping for a picnic lunch along the way, before returning to your lodge for the evening.
Accommodation: Acacia Farm Lodge
Food & Drinks: All meals are included (Except Alcohol)
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater is a stunning natural wonder, home to an abundance of East African wildlife, including the rare black rhino. Covering 102 square miles with 2,000-foot-high walls, the crater features a river, swamps, a soda lake with flamingos, a forest, and open plains, as well as the world’s largest elephants. Your day will begin early with a transfer to the conservation area for a morning game drive, followed by an afternoon drive before ascending the crater and heading back to your lodging.
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp
Food & Drinks: All meals are included (Except Alcohol)
Day 3: Serengeti National park (Central)
Depart after breakfast for the Serengeti, the world’s most famous national park. The drive itself is spectacular, and as you travel deeper into the park, you will understand why the name means “endless plains” in the local language. The park covers 6,900 square miles and is home to the Great Migration and 2 million wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes. It’s the perfect place to spot big cats and predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, with many famous TV scenes filmed in the park, including the famous River Crossings
Accommodation: Melia Serengeti Lodge
Food & Drinks: All meals are included (Except Alcohol)
Day 5-6: Serengeti National Park (Following the Great Migration)
During these two unforgettable days, you will be driven through remote areas of the vast Serengeti plains in pursuit of the Great Wildebeest Migration. The areas you visit depend on the time of year and can range from the remote north of the Serengeti near the Kenyan border to the south (Ndutu Area) or even the western part of the park.
Accommodation; Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp (Kogatende)
Food & Drinks: All meals are included (Except Alcohol)
Day 7: Serengeti to Arusha
On this day, we recommend getting up very early to go on an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the most beautiful sunrises you’ve ever seen. It’s truly one of the most beautiful things you can do. We’ll head back to the camp after the game drive for a satisfying brunch. We will then travel back to Arusha. Alternatively, you could opt to stay at the camp and unwind rather than going on this early-morning game drive.
Day 8 – 11: Arusha to Zanzibar
You will fly to Zanzibar Airport ZNZ via Stone Town after breakfast and then head to Nungwi, located on the northern coast of Zanzibar. Nungwi’s white coral sand looks stunning even at night, and its expansive coastline is ideal for swimming and snorkeling in some of Africa’s most pristine, reef-rich waters. It’s one of the few beaches in Zanzibar without severe high and low tide undulations, making it perfect for all-day water activities. Sunset cruises, diving excursions, parasailing, and walking tours are available, and traditional dhow boats bobbing in the sea at sunset can captivate you. You’ll spend three nights in this amazing location.
Accommodation: Z Hotel
